JuanFi Piso WiFi: Pause Time, MikroTik and Fixes
Updated November 2026
JuanFi is an open-source piso wifi system that adds a coin slot to a MikroTik hotspot. Whether you can pause depends on how the owner set up the portal, so some JuanFi machines have a pause button and some do not.
Quick answer: Connect to the WiFi, open the portal the owner uses (often 10.0.0.1 or another local address), and look for Pause near your remaining time. No button means the owner did not add pause. Ask them, or buy shorter blocks of time.
This is an independent guide, not affiliated with JuanFi, its developers or MikroTik.
What is JuanFi?
JuanFi is a free, open-source project shared by Filipino developers. It connects a coin acceptor to a MikroTik router's built-in hotspot feature. The coin side usually runs on a cheap WiFi microcontroller board, such as an ESP8266-type board.
When you drop coins, the board tells the MikroTik to create or extend your hotspot time. MikroTik then handles login, timers and speed limits.
Because it is open source, owners customize it a lot. Two JuanFi machines can look very different. That is why pause, vouchers and even the portal address vary from store to store.
Why pause depends on the owner
MikroTik hotspot time normally runs from login until it is used up. A pause feature has to be added to the portal and configured. Some owners add it. Others leave it out to keep the setup simple. Neither choice is a fault.
How to use JuanFi as a customer
- Connect to the vendo WiFi. Choose the store's network name in your phone settings.
- Turn off mobile data. This helps the login page appear.
- Open the portal. Wait for the sign-in pop-up, or type the address on the machine sticker. Many use http://10.0.0.1, but some use 10.10.0.1 or another address.
- Tap Insert Coin. The page waits a few seconds for coins.
- Drop coins and confirm. Your time appears, and you are logged in.
If your machine uses a different address, see our guide to 10.10.0.1 piso wifi.
JuanFi pause time: how to pause and resume
If the owner added pause, it works much like other systems. Pause only saves time you paid for.
- Open the portal on the same phone. Your session is linked to your phone's MAC address.
- Find Pause. It is usually near your remaining time or on a status page. Labels vary.
- Tap Pause. You are logged out of the hotspot and your time is held.
- Resume. Reconnect, open the portal and tap Resume or log in again, depending on the setup.
Kung walang Pause sa JuanFi, hindi ito in-on ng may-ari. Magtanong sa tindahan.
No pause button? Try these
- Ask the owner if pause is available. Some add it on request.
- Buy smaller amounts so less time is wasted when you leave.
- Ask if they sell vouchers. A voucher you have not used yet does not start counting. See piso wifi voucher.
| Action on JuanFi | Time saved? |
|---|---|
| Tap Pause (if available) | Yes |
| Turn off WiFi | Usually no |
| Close the browser | No |
| Tap Logout with no pause feature | Often no |
JuanFi MikroTik: setup overview for owners
This is a general overview, not a full tutorial. Follow the official project documentation and community guides for exact steps.
What you need
- A MikroTik router that supports hotspot, such as a hAP-series unit.
- A coin acceptor, power supply and enclosure.
- A WiFi microcontroller board for the coin slot, plus wiring.
- One or more access points for wider coverage.
- An internet line: fiber, DSL, LTE or Starlink.
How the setup fits together
- Set up the MikroTik hotspot. Create the hotspot network, address pool and user profiles for your rates.
- Install the JuanFi portal files. These replace the default hotspot login pages.
- Flash and wire the coin board. Load the firmware from the project and connect it to the coin acceptor.
- Link board and router. Give the board access to the router as described in the docs.
- Set rates and options. Add pause, vouchers and speed caps if your version supports them.
Secure the router: change default logins, limit admin access to your own devices and keep RouterOS updated.

JuanFi troubleshooting
| Problem | What to try |
|---|---|
| Login page won't open | Turn off data and VPN. Set Private DNS to Off. Type the address from the sticker. |
| Coins not counted | Tap Insert Coin first, then drop coins within the countdown. Report jams. |
| Kicked out early | Your phone address may have changed. Turn off random MAC for this network. |
| Pause missing | The owner did not add it. Ask them. |
| Slow speed | Owner speed caps or a busy line. Try later. |

JuanFi FAQs
Does JuanFi have pause time?
Only if the owner added it. JuanFi is customizable, so some machines have pause and some do not.
What is JuanFi MikroTik?
It is JuanFi running with a MikroTik router. The router handles the hotspot, and JuanFi adds the coin slot and portal.
Is JuanFi free?
The project is open source and free to use. Owners still pay for the router, coin slot and other hardware.
What address does JuanFi use?
It depends on the owner. Many use 10.0.0.1, but others use 10.10.0.1 or another local address.
Why does my JuanFi time keep running after I leave?
Without a pause feature, hotspot time keeps counting. Turning off WiFi does not stop it.
Can I add pause to my own JuanFi vendo?
Some versions and portal templates support it. Check the project docs and community groups for your version.
Can JuanFi be hacked for free time?
We do not cover that. Pause only saves paid time, and tampering with someone's vendo is not allowed.
